JUNE - OCTOBER

“Visions between the Lakes” featuring Sherri Loonsfoot- Aldred & Aiyana Aldred

Sherri Loonsfoot-Aldred and Aiyana Aldred are a mother–daughter Anishinaabe artistic team based in Marquette, Michigan, and enrolled members of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. Blending graphic design and mixed-media painting, they honor reciprocity, stewardship, and storytelling through an Anishinaabe perspective. Their work is a vibrant celebration of nature’s cycles and seasons, grounded in Ojibwe lifeways and traditions.
Drawing inspiration from native flora and fauna, they reimagine natural forms through bold Woodland-style symbolism and fluid, organic linework, creating works that bridge ancestral knowledge and contemporary expression.
A stunning collection... vibrant and soul energizing!

JUNE - OCTOBER

Adam King’s “Place of Echoes”

Place of Echoes (Naubinway, in the Ojibwe language) is a seven-year project combining nature photography captured across Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with an original orchestral score.
The work focuses on quiet, in-between moments—places that feel familiar, but are hard to fully explain.
The exhibition features photography spanning all four seasons, alongside Adam’s original music. His new album, Place of Echoes, will be released at the Pine Theater on September 26, 2026, and was composed to reflect the same sense of place and atmosphere behind the images.

“Mindscapes: A Gallery Exhibit by Laura Maze”

Painting and Printmaking SERENITY Painting: "When I begin to paint on canvas or board I am not actually considering an image, but rather I concentrate on the process of applying acrylic paint.  While painting, a pattern or specific image may appear out of spontaneous brush strokes or manipulation of paint in other ways".

"Once I see a shape that I find interesting to work with, I develop the image with a careful selection of color and pattern.  My paintings normally turn out to be landscapes or cityscapes.  The reason for this is that I find peace of mind and comfort in places without any human disturbances.  That is so important to me especially during financial and politically uneasy times.  If I can find even an hour each day in my life by painting or studying my paintings, I can relax and enjoy those moments".

Painting and printmaking: "Lately I have attached portions of prints that I produced onto canvases or boards. After studying the composition I applied paint around the print, and sometimes painted on portions of the print so the image is cohesive all the way to the edges of the support".

"At this point colors are very important to me so that the calm and peace of mind I feel while painting is clear to the viewer".
