“FISH TAILS” Art on the Lake Wooden Fish Cut Out Silent Auction
The Erickson Center is bringing this popular silent auction back as part of the new Art on the Lake Festival August 1st.
Pick up a wooden 2’x 4’ fish cut out here at the Center, bring it home and CREATE. Decorate your fish any way you choose… Make it realistic, or fun and whimsical! Your fish can be made to enjoy outdoors or indoors, be one or two dimensional, made by you alone or several people.
Attention to details ensures a great auction result, so take your time and make it a masterpiece!
A coat of primer is highly recommended on your plywood fish before painting, drawing etc. We’d like to hang a number of the fish downtown Curtis for all to enjoy before the auction, so if your fish is made to be outdoors, please WEATHER PROOF it after it’s completed. Screws will be used to hang the fish, so if you DO NOT want screws through the front of your cut out, please mount a large bracket on the back. If your fish is in an indoor fish, we’ll have a safe place for it inside until the auction. Please be sure to put your name/names on the BACK of the fish.
A $10 refundable deposit will be collected for each fish to help ensure they come back to the Center by the deadline. All proceeds from the Fish Tails Silent Auction will benefit the Erickson Center.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS - AOL FISH CUT OUTS
- COMPLETED FISH MUST BE DROPPED OFF AT THE CENTER NO LATER THAN JUNE 26TH.
- Add a coat of primer to fish before painting, decorating.
- Be sure any two dimensional aspects are well secured.
- If the fish is meant to be displayed outdoors, add a weather proof coating (varnish, acrylic sealant).
- Add a large bracket to the back of your fish if you don’t want screws used through the front to hang it.
- Add your name legibly to the BACK of the fish.
- The Fish Tails Silent Auction will be held during the Art on the Lake Festival Saturday, August 1st.
