In celebration of the return of the migratory birds, Michael Waite will come to the Erickson Center in Curtis, Michigan to sing with his 9-piece band, featuring the songs from his newest album, We’ve Always Been at Home. These songs feature heartfelt and concise observations about the particulars of love and life, delivered with a teaspoon of humor and the accompaniment of birds, frogs and water sounds Michael recorded outside his wilderness home 20 miles northwest of Marquette.

Michael’s ensemble includes members of the Adam Sawfox band plus a string quartet of the Superior String Alliance Chamber Players, who also contributed to the latest album’s recording. The program will also include other original music and interpretations of classic songs from the American songbook repertoire.

“Comfortably at home in the north country, Michael Waite is the quintessential rural singer-songwriter.”
— ROSS BOISSINEAU, LOCAL SPINS MAGAZINE

“One of my favorite songwriters and singers in Michigan”
—JOSHUA DAVIS, SINGER/SONGWRITER
