“For me, the greatest joy in life comes from spending time outdoors in nature. It is a spiritually inspiring experience that helps center me as a person and as an artist.
The way the sunlight illuminates the moss on the side of a tree, the glisten of sunlight on a brook, the fleeting glimpse of a bluebird flying overhead; these are all things that I want to share.
I work in a variety of different mediums, but my main focus is currently on oil painting. Like most artists, my work is constantly evolving. I find that I am more and more attracted to the energy of the abstract while still focusing realistically on my subject. Thus, much of my recent studio work has semi abstract or abstract qualities combined with realism. I hope I bring you to the places and experiences that I love. “
Gail was awarded a feature artist award by the Erickson Center for the Arts through participation in the 2015 Northern Exposure art show at the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center in Escanaba, making this exhibit possible.
