 nce again\, hold an in-person gathering for writers of any genre or level 
 experience. The all-inclusive retreat will be held at Chamberlin’s Ole For
 est Inn in Curtis\, MI.\nAttendees can look forward to workshops taught by
  notable authors\, to encourage creativity\, hone skills\, and build commu
 nity with other writers. Participants have opportunities to read their wor
 k aloud and receive feedback from their peers that is both affirming and c
 onstructive. A reading by the staff authors is held at the Erickson Center
  and is open to the public.  \n\nAny adult who has a passion for writing\,
  a desire to pursue the craft\, or who feels a need to get away from the d
 istractions of everyday living to explore and/or indulge their interest is
  welcome.  “The retreat is for adults who write\, or are interested in wri
 ting\,” said AnnMarie Rowland\, who has directed the retreat since its inc
 eption in 2010. “Whether it’s poetry\, fiction\, or non-fiction…whether yo
 u’re a well-published author or just beginning… North of 45 is a ‘safe’ pl
 ace for you to stretch yourself as a writer.” \n\nLeading workshops for th
 e May 2022 event will be Ann Rowland\, Rob Ritchie and Michal Jacot. \n\nR
 ob Ritchie is a three-time novelist\, prolific songwriter/poet\, freelance
  editor\, and insightful teacher. His quiet demeanor and keen wit create a
 n atmosphere of safety for writers of all levels. He’s back by popular dem
 and to again encourage writers of all genres. He resides in Wiarton\, Onta
 rio. \n\nAnnMarie Rowland is a columnist\, poet\, writing workshop leader\
 , songwriter\, and touring musician. In addition to the North of 45 Retrea
 t for Writers\, Word Compass Retreat for Writers\, was the director of Joh
 nathan Rand’s Author Quest\, and has taught creative writing workshops at 
 the Sharjah (UAE) International Book Fair and Children’s Reading Festival.
   Her work has appeared in many regional magazines and newspapers\, Chicke
 n Soup for the Soul\, and others. She lives in Coldwater\, Michigan and Ow
